Jean Pierre Mugiraneza is an experienced monitoring and evaluation practitioner, consultant and university lecturer with about six years of practical experience. As an M&E Practitioner, he works for VVOB as an advisor in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning and Research. At VVOB Rwanda, he also works as advisor in developing a course on mentorship and coaching for mathematics teachers. He was an evaluation and research specialist and worked with monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning team at Save the Children International Rwanda. He participated in the design, data collection and implementation of different international programs funded by different donors such as USAID, IKEA and DFID. Furthermore, Mugiraneza is skilled in developing and designing project systems to track program progress against indicators. He is skilled in organizing effective data collection. He is able to maintain performance monitoring plans and to provide reports in accordance to USAID reporting and tracking tools.
As a university lecturer he taught at both graduate and post graduate levels a number of subject such as Mathematics, Special Teachiching Methods of Science and Mathematics, research methodologies, statistics for social sciences, inferential statistics, descriptive statistics, monitoring and evaluation of programs and Planning among others. He teaches the aforementioned subjects at University of Rwanda (UR) as a permanent lecturer and at Adventist University of Central Africa (UAAC) as a visiting lecturer. In addition, he supervised different students’ research in the aforementioned disciplines. Furthermore, for several times, he was the acting head of department of the Early Childhood and Primary Education at URCE.
As a lead research consultant or co-principal investigator, Mugiraneza was involved in different research and programme evaluations for different organizations such as Voluntary Overseas Organisation (VSO), Japan International Coperation Agency (JAICA), Plan International Rwanda, Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance (VVOB), Coner Stony Company Ltd, Trust Consultant Company Ltd and Rwanda Education Board (REB) among others.
Mr. Mugiraneza is at the end of a Ph.D programme specializing in Economics of Education at Kenyatta Univeristy, he holds a Masters of Education in Educational Management and Administration from Kampala Internation University, a Bachelor’s degree of Mathematics and Science with education from the University of Rwanda’s College of Education. He is an experienced trainer both in academic and professional settings. He can use different ICT software used in research such as SPSS and Atlas Ti. He can write and speak three languages Kinyarwanda, English and French.
